Jerome Wayne Askew

Jerome "Wayne" Askew, born on January 5, 1952, a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the age of 70 after a ten-month battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Beverly DuBose Askew, daughter Jennifer Askew Dunbar, granddaughters, Elizabeth Mays Dunbar, Georgia Raines Dunbar and Vivian Grace Dunbar, special friend who has been like a daughter, Ashley Goggans (Roger) Yankoupe, sister, Mary Celeste Askew (Harold) Taulbee, nieces Ashley Taulbee (Kint) Burdine and Ginger Askew (Danny) Robinson, grandnephew Zachary Thomas Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents David A. Askew and Louise Celeste Bass Askew, brothers, David A. Askew, Jr. and James Paul Askew, nieces Lisa Taulbee Evans and Darlene Askew. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 14, 2022, at 10:00 from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday form 9:00 - 10:00. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
