Jerome “Jerry” Bachmann, 68, of Levittown, passed away Wednesday March 20, 2024, after many months of a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Jerry was born in Philadelphia to the late June and Joseph Bachmann. After receiving his high school diploma ,Jerry knew he wanted to serve his country and joined the United States Navy after graduating Pennsbury High School, class of 1974 and served from 1974 to 1986. During this time, Jerry was able to travel the world, and was afforded the opportunity to watch The Grateful Dead perform in front of the pyramids while on a mission, for the Navy, in Egypt. He worked as a Jeweler for Kay Jewelers for many years and designed many pieces of jewelry for customers. When he wasn’t cooking, riding his favorite bike “ Freedom” , or fishing at his favorite spot. Jerry was also an avid reader and enjoyed playing with his beloved pugs, Otis and Lotus.
He is predeceased by his nephew, John Novakoski and his best friend Jack Smith, who was also a navy veteran.He is survived by his siblings, June Ann Devlin and her husband, Kenneth, Joseph “ Joe” Bachmann, and his wife, Theresa, Jan C. Bachmann and Kim, Jeanne Bachmann and her husband, Bruce Morgan; his nieces and nephews, Heather Anderson, Meghan Devlin, Kelsea McNelis, Jamie Lynn Novakoski-Koehler, Darlene Keenan, along with Joseph, Josh, and Daniel Bachmann; He is also survived by many great nephews and nieces and many close friends. He will be dearly missed.
A visitation will be held on Sunday March 24, 2024, at J. Allen Hooper Funeral Chapel, 41 W. Trenton Avenue Morrisville, PA 19067, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Cremation will be held privately. Interment will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, on Thursday April 4, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to SPCA in Lahaska, PA and/or the American Cancer Society.
