Jerome "Jerry" Mud" Madajski
Bay City, MichiganOur devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Symphony Tri-Cities, with his loving family by his side. He was 74.
Jerry was born on June 21, 1950, in
Bay City, Michigan, to the late Andrew F. and Mary T. (Talaga) Madajski. On September 27, 1975, he married the love of his life, Barbara J. DeWyse, who survives him. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
A man of deep faith and service, Jerry was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church, where he once served as an usher. He was a proud 3rd Degree Brother Knight of the Knights of Columbus at St. Stephen Council #4102 and a Sir Knight of the 4th Degree with Bishop Murphy Assembly #0491.
After retiring from Industrial Brownhoist, Jerry remained active by working on the DeWyse farm, becoming produce vendor at the local market, and camping at Black Lake or in Caseville. He spent many of nights hanging with family playing cards or making a trip to the casino. His generosity and commitment to his community shone brightly as he volunteered as a Boy Scout leader specifically the time spent traveling to numerous Jamborees. He could always be seen at church festivals and assisting at countless fish fries or breakfasts for the Knight of Columbus.
Jerry's heart truly lit up during the Christmas season, when he brought joy to thousands of children and adults by donning the red suit and playing the role of Santa's helper. His smile and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
Jerry will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his selfless service to others, the light he brought to the world will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory his beloved wife Barbara, two children, Melissa (Ryan) Rickabaugh and Matthew (Becky) Madajski, grandchildren: Matthew (fiance Skylar Loos), Jacob and Noah Madajski, Samantha and Natalie Rickabaugh, two great grandchildren, Matthew Jr. and Emersyn Madajski, siblings: Rose Marie White, JoAnn Hutchinson, Larry (Pauline) Madajski, and Joseph Madajski, in-laws: Joanne Madajski, Jim DeWyse (Bernice Gill Lemaitre), Nancy Rosekrans, Gary Oberdorf, Mary DeWyse and many nieces and nephews. Jerry was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Mary, his brother: Arthur Madajski and in-laws: Madeline OBerdorf, Jackie DeWyse, Michael DeWyse, Joyce Igaz, and Andy DeWyse.
In accordance with Jerry's wishes, cremation will take place. A Knights of Columbus Bible Presentation and Chalice Presentation will be held on Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 5:00 PM, at Ambrose Funeral Home, located at 1200 Garfield Ave.,
Bay City, MI 48708. The funeral service, officiated by Fr. Rick Filary, will follow immediately after the Knights of Columbus presentations. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home earlier that day, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM.
