Jerome McCoy

Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at White's Funeral and Cremation Services, 867 S. James Road, Columbus, OH 43227. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Livestream will start at 11:00 a.m.
Jerome McCoy, age 53, of Columbus, Ohio, responded to call home on Friday, March 8, 2024.
Jerome was born on May 24, 1970, to John and Jean McCoy. He was the youngest of three children. He graduated from Northland High School. He became a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at a young age, and later in life joined Greater Vision Missionary Baptist Church and remained a member until his death. He loved sports but favored swimming and gymnastics and insisted that his children (including his stepchildren) learn and participate. At a young age and for a little time, he was a fitness instructor for Planet Fitness. Then he became captivated with housing restoration, particularly with the painting aspect. This led to a painter position with Glenn Professional Touch company.
Jerome grew up in a musical family, which nourished his enjoyment for all types of music. He treasured his relationships with family and friends and was most passionate about spending time with his grandchildren. He was vibrant and had an infectious laugh. He had a kooky sense-of-humor which set people at ease. He often greeted his family with loving, warm, snuggled hugs, and a big smile.
Jerome was preceded in death by his grandparents: Emmitt (Doris) McCoy; John (Jennie) Everett; Uncles and Aunts: Sutton (Orcean) Richards, Jr., Lester (Addie) Love, Eddie (Lorie) Roquemore; Sadie M. King; William and Freddie Everett; Cousins: Steven Travis, Severen Clayborn, Archie (Buster), Kenya, Keshia Diggs, and Darrell Love.
He leaves to cherish his memory, parents: John and Jean McCoy, Sister Gina (Michael) Wiggs, Brother John (Monica) McCoy, Terri McCoy (formerly married); Uncles Charles (Sadie) King, Emmitt (Robin) McCoy, Jr., aunt Margaret McCoy; Son: Jerome McCoy; Daughters Gina McCoy, Ciara and Johna McCoy; Step-sons: Daquan (Jessica) Ellis, Tyree (Jalea) Ellis; Grand-children: Micrin and Macio Norman, Love Garrett, Dream Nettles, Mekhi, Sincier, Jayden, Cuban, Uni, Giovanni, Journee, Giani (Bear) Ellis; Nieces and Nephew Michalle and Michael Wiggs, Katera McCoy, and a host of cousins and special friends.
