Jerome Muths

Jerome Nicholas Muths passed from this life, March 24th. He was 91 years old. He was born to Andrew and Mathilda (Gasper) Muths, February 28th, 1935 at 8:50 p.m. in Tipton, KS. Dad was told, it was so dry and dirty, they put wet towels in the windows to keep the dirt out.

He met a young lady, working at the movie theater in Wauneta. She gave him free popcorn. He asked how she was getting home and she said walking. He told her "no you're not, I'll drive you." He said he was paid for the ride with a kiss. They were united in marriage on August 27th, 1953, in Elsie, NE. Of this union, they were blessed with five children, Terry, Raymond, Diane, Debra and Barbara.

Jerome began working at a grocery store when he was a teenager. He farmed and worked with cattle, his entire life. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and garage sales with Eleanor. He raised beautiful rose bushes and flowers and a few garden vegetables into his late 80's. He also looked forward to decorating for Christmas. His yard and house were always a beautiful display to see.

Jerome was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor of 72 years, his parents, sister Lola and brother Dwayne.

He is survived by his children Terry (Cindy), Raymond (Dollene) Muths, daughters Diane Mathews, Deb (Greg) Petersen, Barb (Craig) Nickman, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Services will be scheduled at a later date.
