Jerome Douglas Parsons, Jr., affectionately known as "JJ" or "Rome", was a radiant light in the lives of all who knew him. Born on May 14, 1970, in Washington, District of Columbia, Jerome lived a life filled with laughter, ambition, and boundless love. His infectious humor, his unwavering determination, and his abundant love touched everyone he met, creating a legacy that will forever be cherished.
Jerome's journey was not without its challenges, but he faced each one with an enduring spirit and a faith strengthened by his practice of Islam. His religious involvement was pivotal in his life, as he quoted the Quran verse, "And We have certainly created man, and We know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein" (Quran 50:16). His faith was a testament to his character, a symbol of his resilience, and a source of comfort in times of uncertainty. Jerome's career as a Lead Custodian with the Architect of the Capitol was marked by his ambition and dedication. He also served in the US Army Reserve and National Guard for 11 years, a testament to his patriotism and commitment to service. In addition to his honorable military service, Jerome was a Professional Barber for over 12 years, an occupation he cherished as it allowed him to bring joy to others through his work.
Jerome's greatest achievements were his beloved children. He cherished every moment spent with them, whether watching NBA games or cheering on the Dallas Cowboys. His love extended to his wife, Mary (Tia), who he married on May 3, 2016, in Alexandria, Virginia, where they made their home. Jerome's life was not only defined by his accomplishments but also by the lives he touched. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Tia), and his children, Taylor (Jourman), Jayla, Kaleb, Trinity, Karon, Malik and Markeis. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph. Jerome was preceded in death by his father Jerome Sr., his mother Barbara, and his brother Lenardo.
Jerome's life was a beautiful testament to the power of love, faith, and resilience. As we remember Jerome, let us celebrate his life, his laughter, and his love. Please visit the memorial page to share your memories of Jerome and to upload photos that capture his spirit. His story doesn't end with his passing, but continues in the hearts and minds of those who loved him.

Mr Parsons was very cool and calm human being. Always ready to assist without complaining at work. We lost a great leader at work. Rest in peace brother and I pray that almighty God will comfort the family you left behind.
