A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the Eagles Aerie #622 club in St Cloud, for Jerome (Jerry) Theodore Raymond, age 58. There will be a speech by Jerry's children at 2:30 and a blessing and additional speeches from former co-workers and Jerry's siblings at 4:30. He died at Mayo Clinic Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN with family at his side on Monday, January 13, 2025.
Jerry was born, March 18, 1966, in Fairfax, VA to Emmons and Barbara (Belschner) Raymond. Jerry was a full-time Firefighter and EMT at St Cloud Fire Department, retiring as a Battalion Chief in December 2021 after 22 and a half years. He also volunteered for the Sartell Fire Department for 28 years. Jerry graduated from Sartell High School and St Cloud State University and taught at St Cloud Cathedral High School in the 1990s. Jerry also coached track and football at Cathedral.
Jerry enjoyed his time as a Boy Scout in his youth and ran track and cross country in high school, cross country at St Cloud State, he also completed several marathons.
Jerry had a love of the fire service and teaching, so he did both for many years as an instructor of Firefighter I & II, and First Responder classes to new firefighters at numerous volunteer fire departments throughout Central Minnesota, as well as any additional training fire departments needed.
Jerry enjoyed traveling, watching football with friends, trivia, live music, classic rock; especially the band RUSH, stamp collecting and assembling LEGOs. Jerry shared these passions with his children whom he was immensely proud of. Jerry was known for his great sense of humor and his enduring snark, which will be missed by many.
He is survived by his partner, Jodi Overman; daughter Ashley Raymond, St Joseph, son Cody Raymond, US Air Force Base Yokota, Fussa, Japan; mother, Barbara Raymond, Sartell; sister Lee Hurd (Eric), Minneapolis; brother Tom Raymond (Lisa), Austin; beloved nieces and nephews, and cat Louis. He was preceded in death by his father, Emmons.
Jerry's family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and doctors at St. Coud Hospital and Mayo Clinic – Methodist Hospital in Rochester, for all their exceptional care.

We are so sorry to hear of Jerry. We enjoyed a wonderful trip to Germany with him. He added so much to our adventure. Our love to you all. He's a very generous man and we are blessed just knowing him. I've never seen anyone who could sleep and drink soda at the same time!
Peace, Greg and Tama
