Jerome A. Roy

Jerome Roy passed away on January 31, 2025; beloved husband of the late Gail; loving father of Marc Roy (Joy Sclamberg), Jodi Reardon (Scotty Reardon), and Scott Roy (Sarah Graff); cherished grandfather of Josh, Lexi, Tessie, Eliana, Chava, and Orli Roy, Gracie and Jake Reardon; brother of Shirley Lerner and the late Stanley Roy; friend and wonderful family member to so many. Jerry lived a wonderful life surrounded by family and friends. Together with Gail for nearly 63 years of marriage, he raised a close-knit extended family who have countless memories to cherish. He always conveyed a calm contentment, balancing work, family, and happiness in the simple pleasures of life: a morning cup of coffee, a round of golf, working in his garden, fresh corn, watching the Cubs, listening to music, enjoying leftovers for dinner, and having two flavors of ice cream before bed. He was blessed to have had over 30 years as a radiologist in the same job and practice, and was so proud to have been able to work alongside his son Marc before he retired. Most of all he loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and especially his wife, his soulmate of so many years. He and Gail had an amazing journey, getting everything there was to get out of life together, and by their example, teaching the rest of us how to live and love. To all those who had the gift of knowing Jerry, loving him, and being touched by his calm presence and care, he really was the best thing ever. In lieu of flowers, Jerry and his family would welcome memorial donations to either the Jewish United Fund, the Alzheimer's Association, or the American Cancer Society.
