Jerome F. "Jerry" Schlick

Jerome F. "Jerry" Schlick, 73, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday morning, March 30, 2022 at his residence.
Jerry was born April 6, 1948, in Cleveland, to the late William and Elizabeth (Conroy) Schlick. He married Barbara (Moyer) at St. Joseph Catholic Church on July 20, 1974 and she survives in Tiffin.
Survivors include his two daughters, Amanda (Justin) Wagner and Kourtney Hoke both of Tiffin, three grandchildren, William Wagner, Erin Wagner and Emilia Hoke and a sister, Marianne Kirian of Toledo.
Jerry was an Educator for 43 years, teaching at St. Mary's Elementary and Seneca East Local Schools. Following his retirement in 2013 he worked as a substitute teacher and worked part time at Engle-Shook Funeral Home. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, where he was very active with the Fourth Degree. Jerry was a 1966 graduate of Calvert High School and later graduated from Bellarmine College in Kentucky in 1970. Jerry later went on to receive his Master's Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University.
Jerry was the president of Seneca East Education Association and president of the Northwest Ohio Education Association. Over the years, Jerry coached various sports with his favorite coaching experience being coaching High School Football at Calvert and Seneca East. Jerry was a loyal Chicago sports fan who enjoyed golfing, bowling and spending time with his family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William and Robert Schlick and a brother-in-law, Dennis Kirian.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to the Mass. Visitation for friends and family will be held on Tuesday, from 4-8 p.m., at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Burial will follow the services on Wednesday, at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.
