Jerome Stanislaw Swistak went home to our Lord on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. He was 91 years old.
Born in Philadelphia on April 20, 1933, he was the son of the late Joachim and Stefania Swistak (nee Cierpiel). Devoted father to Donna Pagliaro (Vincent), Barbara Peak (Steven) of Cinnaminson, NJ, and Jerry Swistak (Maryann) of Berlin, MD. Loving pop-pop to 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Cherished younger brother to Ann Truszkowski of Philadelphia, PA, and the late Tessie Bys, Jean Muzyka, Helen Chrzanowski, Laura Switek, and Matthew Swistak.
Jerry was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He had a love for animals and was a doting caretaker to all his "grand dogs" especially Tinkerbell and Gabby. He enjoyed watching old war movies, dining out and making people laugh. Jerry also loved spending time with his family and was a constant presence in the lives of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to Jerry's Life Celebration on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Nativity B.V.M. Church, 2535 E Allegheny Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. Visitation will be from 10:30 - 11:00 a.m. Funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be immediately following at Saint Peter's Cemetery located on the corner of Almond & Tioga Streets.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project woundedwarriorproject.org
Letters of condolence can be sent to the family via www.burbagefuneralhome.com. Arrangements are in the care of The Burbage Funeral Home, Berlin, MD
