Jerri Ann Daniel Smith

Mrs. Jerri Ann Daniel Smith, 66, of Clemmons, NC, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Saturday, August 13, 2022. Jerri was born in Fayetteville, NC on July 11, 1956, to the late Robert Bailey Daniel and Ida Fay Hogan Daniel and spent her childhood in Chapel Hill, NC. Jerri was an active member of Ardmore Baptist Church since 1982, where she was a long-time Sunday school teacher. She received a Bachelor's degree in education from East Carolina University and had a rewarding career as a school teacher in the WS/FC School System. She was an avid sports fan and loved watching a ballgame, especially the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Jerri's greatest loves were her family, friends, and her church. She loved her family deeply. She was a true and loyal friend and a pillar of love, grace, and support to all who knew her. Jerri was a humble servant, prayer warrior, calming presence, full of joy, thoughtful, kind, and the ultimate hostess. She loved and trusted her Lord and was known to say "God's got this" regardless of the situation. She was always a source of great advice and was quick to say, "any decision bathed in prayer is the right decision." Jerri's kind and giving spirit was evident to all who knew her. She kept a file of cards ready to mail out to love, encourage, and comfort others. Her family finds comfort knowing that when she got to heaven the Lord greeted her by saying, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." Jerri is survived by her husband of 42 years, Brad Smith; daughter, Courtney Smith Wilson (Chris) of Raleigh, NC; son, Blair Smith of Winston-Salem; sisters, Bobbi Pendleton and Diana Backus, both of Chapel Hill, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Jerri will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A service to celebrate Jerri's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Ardmore Baptist Church with Rev. Ty Talton and Rev. Tyler Tankersley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Ardmore Baptist Church, 501 Miller St., Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family of Mrs. Smith.
