It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jerrie B. Dean, who left us peacefully on November 11, 2024, at the age of 85.
Born on December 8, 1938, Jerrie lived a life full of grace, dedication, and elegance. For many years, she served as an Executive Assistant in the wine and spirits wholesale sector, where her expertise, attention to detail, and impeccable organizational skills earned her the admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Jerrie's ability to manage complex tasks and navigate the demands of her career with poise was legendary. Always impeccably dressed in a suit and heels, she embodied professionalism in every sense of the word.
In addition to her career, Jerrie had a fulfilling and active life, enjoying quality time with friends and family. She had a passion for working in the yard with her flowers. She appreciated being outdoors and loved fishing. Playing bunco with her friends every week brought her joy and a sense of connection to her community.
Jerrie is survived by her daughter, Susan M. Dean and Brenda Gorham of Tate; sister, Mary Ellen Payne of Jasper; brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Kay Bruce of Jasper, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Billy and Carla Dean of Jensen Beach, Florida, Jack and Susan Dean of Jasper. Several nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Eddie" Dean; parents, Rembert and Wyolene Bruce; brother-in-law, Bob Payne; and nephew, Joe Bruce.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2024 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday, November 15, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude’s Place in Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or to the charity of your choice in her honor.
Jerrie's memory will live on in the countless lives she touched. May she rest in peace.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.

My thoughts are with you. Jerrie was such an important part of my adult life for so long and she and Marvin now gone, makes me sad. Your mother was exceptional at her job and she was so loyal to her colleagues and especially to our members. I'm not young anymore so I don't leave Madison very often so I will have to be at her service in spirit, You mother was the best.
