Jerrod Lennell Womack was born on September 1, 1978, in Baltimore, MD, to Celestine Williams and the late Willie Jerome Womack. He passed away peacefully on Monday, May 6, 2024, surrounded by family and close friends.
He attended Baltimore City Public Schools. He was a dedicated employee at Herman's Discount for 25 years. He had a very special bond with them. He was more than just an employee; he was their family. He traveled to Trinidad with them and attended family events. He was well loved by the Herman's, and he loved them.
Jerrod loved his family. Although he was the baby, he sometimes took on the role of the oldest. He had an unbreakable bond with his siblings, who were his best friends, as well as his nieces and nephews. They didn't play about their "Uncle Jerrod".
He had six children, Phay, De'Ondre, Dajah, Deaira, Lil Jerrod, and Carmyra. He loved them unconditionally. They were the apple of his eye, and spending time with them filled his heart with joy.
On May 19, 2003, Jerrod married Donita Lewis. They were married for seven years and share two children.
His #1 lady was the first woman he laid his eyes on, his mother, Celestine Williams. She spoiled him rotten. She would prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for him. While she was cooking, he would do what he loved to do-play his PlayStation. He was a momma's boy. Even death can't break that connection. He will always be in her heart.
When he wasn't with his mom, he would hang out with his best friends, Ricky, Teon, and Crocket. His favorite rapper was 50 Cent. He was ecstatic when he attended his concert in September 2023.
You could always count on Jerrod. His smile would light up a room. If you were down, he would lift you. He was a loving, kindhearted, caring person. He would give you his last. Despite his hurt and pain, he still smiled and pushed forward. He was the angel in the family. He rededicated his life to Christ on Saturday, May 5, 2024; now he's watching over us.
Jerrod was preceded in death by his dad, Willie Jerome Womack; and his brother, Jermaine Womack.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Celestine Williams; stepfather, Thomas Pope; six children, Phay Womack, De'Ondre Womack, Dajah Womack, Deaira Womack, Jerrod Womack, and Carmyra Womack; two grand-children, Amariey George and Akeela Wallace; two siblings, Michelle Pennington, and Jerome Womack; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; three best friends, Ricky, Crocket, and Teon; special friend, Donita Lewis; his bonus mom, Doll Herman; his 31st and 41st street family, and his co-workers at Hermans Discounts.
