Jerrold "Doc" Koch Obituary
November 19, 1935 – November 11, 2024
For centuries people have claimed to have known the best husband, dad or grandfather and dentist. However, our experience shows that Jerrold "Doc" Koch was truly all of those! He brought oxygen into the room, though there were times you couldn't breathe from his humor. He was an amazing storyteller and enjoyed, laughed and relived them with the listeners. Anyone, of any age, felt special and loved because of his charisma. His energy was infectious, with "Absolutely" and "Fantastic" being commonly used words to describe his every day. He never met a day he didn't enjoy.
Jerry and LeAnne's love story began in high school when they were15 years old. They were husband and wife, best friends, and each other's person for 72 wonderful years.
Finally, you would be hard pressed to find someone's advice that you held in higher regard than his. Doc was the complete individual that will be missed by everyone who knew him, and anytime there is something worth toasting.
The loss of Doc leaves a huge gap in the lives of his beloved wife Leanne, His Children Cheryl (Vic) Schneider, Lori (Andy) Mommaerts, Mary (Craig) Schiefelbein and Kristi (Jerry) Habanek, Cobe (Kristen Short). He is survived by his sister Janice House. His tribe of grandchildren Justin Short, Zach (Tina) and Taylor Mommaerts, Hans, Klaus and Greta Schiefelbein, Fritz, Max and Rolf Habanek could argue, for they always thought they were his favorite. As much as this is Doc's family tree, we add Donny Schmitt as a true Best Friend.
Unfortunately, our family lost our Rolfi a few weeks prior to Doc's death. He went up ahead to set up the welcome reception for Doc upon entry into Heaven.
The date for the Celebration of Life will be announced in the new year. Thank you all for your support and the many prayers for strength.
