Jerry Linwood Autry, 88, of Lowell, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2023 at Robin Johnson Hospice House surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Gaston County on July 14, 1935 to the late E. Linnox and Lula Helen Bowen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Grace Autry; brother, Donald Hucey; and his sisters, Barbara Jean Palmer and Mary “Teeny” Blackwood.
Mr. Autry loved his family and served the Lord above all else. He was a dedicated member of McAdenville Baptist. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, and food. Last but not least, he loved his dogs. Jerry will be missed by everyone who’s lives he touched. He was, in addition, a teacher life’s most important lessons to all he came in contact with.
Jerry is survived by his son, Grayson Autry (Diane); daughters, Toni Linn Rankin (Joe), Gina Ledwell (Stoney), and Sonya Tallent; brothers, Tommy Hulcey and David Hulcey; sister, Faye Hulcey; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 1:30 p.m. Sunday September 17th 2023 at McAdenville Baptist Church 192 Main Street McAdenville NC 28101. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Walter Griggs and Dick Roberts officiating.
A private inurnment for the family will be held at a later date.
