Jerry Allen Ballew Jr.

Jerry Allen Ballew, Jr., age 46, of Williamsville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Mr. Ballew was born January 5, 1979 in Marshall, Missouri.
Jerry graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Sugar Land, Texas in 1999. After graduation, He worked in various jobs including security and volunteer firefighting. Jerry chose a career in Barbering. He graduated from the American College of Hair Design in 2018, and worked in a variety of barbershops until opening Ballew's Barbershop April 2021 in Paragould, Arkansas. His precise skills and passion for connecting with people led to a typically packed waiting area in his walk-ins only shop. Clients came for haircuts, but many would come to spend an afternoon in conversation and to enjoy Jerry's undeniable laugh. Jerry wanted every client to feel as if they were part of his family when they left his barbershop.
On June 10, 2021, he married Katherine Withrow Ballew. She survives of the home. Also surviving are children: Gaige Ballew, Mya Ballew, Haven Ballew, Eloise Ballew and Carson Ballew; and his father: Jerry Allen Ballew, Sr (Judy).
He was preceded in death by his mother: Penny Hand.
Protecting his loving family was Jerry's lifelong dream. Marrying Katie was a gift from God. Together they went through the highs and lows of life, never giving up on the love they found. Jerry and Katie would constantly make each other laugh and gave each other grace when the weight of life became heavy. Never forgetting to end the day with a hug, kiss and the sincere words "I Love You". Together, they built a home of love and laughter for their children. Jerry would be found dancing in the kitchen while making his unforgettable alfredo sauce, intentionally and awkwardly interrupting Mya and Haven's TikTok videos, being caught dancing in the car on long rides, gaming with Gaige no matter the distance between them, and wrestling on the floor with Eloise and Carson. The title "Daddy" was his greatest accomplishment.
There will be a memorial service on June 14, 2025 at Fellowship Church Youth Building in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Visitation 10-11am with service to follow. Please honor Jerry by wearing your favorite Kansas City Chiefs, Ballew's Barbershop, MMA, Poker, Motorcycle or Military/First Responder support attire.
Memorials will be collected for the Children's Education funds.
