Mr. Jerry R. Brewer, age 85 of Woodstock, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Mr. Brewer earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering at Virginia Tech located in Blacksburg, Virginia. Go Hokies! He retired as a manager with Norfolk Southern Railroad after thirty-two years of dedicated service. He was even more dedicated to the church he loved, Cherokee Presbyterian Church, in Canton, Georgia. He lovingly and humbly served as a Deacon there for over thirty-five years. With a keen interest in politics, Jerry was an active member of the Cherokee County Republican Party for many years. During this time, he served as a poll worker for several years. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Brewer of Woodstock, Georgia, his sons, Jason Brewer of Woodstock, Georgia, Nathan Brewer of Acworth, Georgia, and Andrew Brewer of Woodstock, Georgia, and his sister, Karen Williams of Bluefield, West Virginia. The funeral for Mr. Brewer will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 3:00p.m. at Cherokee Presbyterian Church with Reverend Clif Daniell officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the Church from 2Pm - 2:45PM The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Cherokee Presbyterian Church Mission Ministry, 1498 Johnson Brady Road, Canton, Georgia 30115, in his memory. Jerry will be missed by all those who knew him and loved him. The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is honored to serve the Brewer family.
