Brian Quillian Watters (04 December 1981 – 06 September 2025) With great sadness we announce the peaceful and unexpected passing of Brian Quillian Watters surrounded by his family and friends. Brian Quillian Watters, 43, of Woodstock, Georgia, died on 06 September 2025. Brian was born at Georgia Baptist Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia to his parents Julian Quillian Watters, Jr. and Susan Jenkins Watters. Brian was born as an energetic child who early on discovered his love of the outdoors and sports. Brian's life was shaped by the love and compassion he learned from his parents and family. Diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes at age 4, Brian learned early on to face life's challenges head on with grace and determination. Brians adolescence was marked by formative character development that shaped him for years to come. Brian had a younger brother, Andrew (Andy) Watters. From the moment Andy was born, he admired Brian in all ways. Brian quickly became his role-model that would last and shape Andy's character for the rest of his life. Their parents embodied the concept of doing life together. Family activities involved camping with the family at Moccasin Creek, visiting Pensacola Beach, trips to Maryland to visit family, the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park. These trips instilled a deep love for nature, echoing John Muirs quote of "The mountains are calling and there I must go." into the heart of Brian. The trips Brian loved the most were fishing trips in God's creation. The love of being on the water in a trout stream or fishing at Pensacola Beach bridge is where Brian found true joy. Playing baseball as a kid and going to the Atlanta Braves games gave Brian the love of the greatest game on God' s earth. Family didn't just include people, but also dogs! Brian always had a family dog and developed a lasting love to have a four-legged companion by his side that would last his entire life. Brian graduated from Sequoyah High School class of 2000. During his school years Brian actively played baseball and found a passion for music with band at Sequoyah High School. Brian loved to play the trumpet every chance he could get with the Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and Marching Band. Brian developed lifelong friends during his time at Sequoyah High School while traveling on marching band trips across the country. He and his best friend Geoff Parkinson were always out fishing in Canada, the North Georgia mountains and any farm pond they could get to, camping and loving life as high school boys. This friendship would last the rest of Brian's life. They took numerous trips together and would always try to catch a Braves game together as often as they could. Brian was an active member of the outdoor explorer's club where he would take every opportunity he could to go camping, hiking and exploring the outdoors. The love he found for fishing during this time turned in to a hobby which lasted his entire life. After graduating from Sequoyah High School, Brian attended the University of Georgia and North Metro Tech. He found his professional calling in horticulture which jumpstarted his entire professional career. Brian competed in, and later judged, the "PLANET" outdoor land-care competition at North Metro Technical College. During these years, he met his former wife, Jessica. Brian and Jessica were married during a beautiful ceremony on Pensacola Beach in May 2010. They prospered during their young adult lives and had their daughter, Brenna Rose Watters. Through the windy road of life, the narrow road parted ways but fostered an unrivaled co-parenting partnership in raising Brenna. Brians professional life started with various horticulture and lawn care companies in Atlanta where he learned the grassroots skills of his trade. Brian's problem-solving intellect and adventure for a challenge led him to focus his skills on irrigation within the horticulture career field. He then worked with "Brickman Landscaping" company where he learned the ends and outs of running a business. Brian had learned enough of the trade that he launched his own irrigation business named "Watters Irrigation". After several years of owning and operating his irrigation company in the Atlanta region, he moved to "Chatham Irrigation" where he mastered his skills in the industry and networked to become an icon in the irrigation craft. After over 20 years in the irrigation field, "Hunter Irrigation" (an internationally acclaimed company) sought after him to work as a technical support representative to provide technical coaching and council to commercial and residential clients. Through Brian's professional career, his passion was to troubleshoot problems, see the fruits of his labor, and ultimately serving others with his diligent and passionate heart. His work ethic was unrivaled. Doing a professional and quality job was always important to him. Brian truly adored being a part of the "Hunter" family and fostering friendships in this wonderful organization. Brians professional career could be summed up in his joy to assist others and teach others the skills he was blessed with. Brenna was the love of Brian's life. His life was amazingly changed when Brian was blessed with the birth of Brenna. He adored her and always looked to spend as much time with her as possible. Brian and Brenna loved spending their time together gardening, walking the outdoors, and visiting science museums. From a young age, Brians father instilled a love for the beach and marine biology. Brian carried this love towards Brenna by taking her to aquariums and going to Pensacola Beach Florida. Brian thoroughly enjoyed simply going on walks with Brenna and enjoying God's creation. He truly was close to God, the creator, when he was in creation with his daughter. Brian will always be remembered for his calming presence in the storms. Though he faced many trials, he triumphed with grace. As Brian's vision slowly degraded over the years, he leaned into the topic of walking by faith vs sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Brian was the epitome of a faithful servant in his roles at work, as a Father, Brother, Son, and Friend to so many. The calming presence rooted deeply in his heart can be attributed to the one who calms the storms (Luke 8:22-25). "Follow your Heart" & "Don't sweat the small things." Brian's love and character live on in the hearts of all who loved him. He will be greatly missed, but his memories and character live on forever. Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents Dr. Julian Quillian Watters & Louise Watters and Frank S. Jenkins Jr. & Lorene Fields Jenkins. Brian is survived by his parents Julian Quillian Watters, Jr. and Sara Susan Watters. His daughter Brenna Rose Watters. His brother Andrew Franklin Watters and Andy's wife Caitlin Elizabeth Watters and Andy's sons Russell Quillian Watters and Reece James Watters.
