Jerry Callis Obituary
Jerry was born on November 6, 1941 in Evansville to the late Roye H. Callis, Jr and Helen Grace (Gentry) Callis. Jerry was a graduate of F.J. Reitz High School and a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He worked for Whirlpool Corporation for 41 years before retiring. Jerry lived his life to the fullest; he loved to travel and spend time with his family and friends.
Surviving Jerry are his wife of 25 years, Elizabeth Ann (Stewart) Callis; daughters, Natalie (Brian) Brown and Sherri Horn; a brother, Raymond Callis; step children, Lorraine (Mark) Rudolph, John (Lori) Mathews and Yvonne Fitzgibbon; grandchildren, Tara (Rick) Frohbieter, Michael Horn and Matthew Horn; several step grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen (Weiss) Callis; by sisters, Barbara Schuetter and Carolyn Davis; a brother, Roye Callis III and a grandson, Jenson Krueger.
Funeral services for Jerry will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Pierre Funeral Home, Chaplain Brad Garner officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery, where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 4:00 PM on Saturday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Charles Ford Retirement Community/Hospice in Harmony, 920 Main Street, New Harmony, IN 47631.
