Jerry Lee Craig of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed from this life on December 17, 2023 with his family by his side. Jerry was born in Oklahoma City on August 11, 1956, the son of Harold Dement Craig and Loretta Bessie Hughes. As a young man, Jerry worked as an account manager for Haliburton from 1978-1982 and relocated to Elk City during the height of the oil boom. He was once "dared" to ride a pumpjack and climbed up without hesitation. He began his lifelong career at Mathis Brothers Furniture in 1985, where he retired as a Store Manager. He loved his job and co-workers. A lot of great memories and lifelong friends were made during his employment. He was loved by so many.
Jerry was an outgoing, yet laid-back, easy-going man who loved laughing and making others laugh. He never met a stranger. Genuine and down to earth, he treated everyone equally and with the same respect. What you saw is what you got. He was a hard worker and very generous. He took pride in providing for his family. He married his wife Lenore on November 13, 1993. They recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. She was an amazing wife and caretaker who proudly stood by her husband's side until the day he took his last breath.
Jerry loved his two children, Brittany Craig Scott and Daniel Craig. He was a great father and always quick to brag about his kids. Some of their most favorite memories with him would like to be shared:
"I remember my dad picking me up for school in the mornings. When we had extra time, we would stop by the donut shop and drive out to a grassy field near the airport. We would eat our donuts and watch the planes take off. That was our thing." - Brittany
"I loved spending time with dad in the backyard when he was grilling. He would bring home steaks or chicken and ask me to come sit outside with him. He would cook and we would play catch football together. One time, I caught the ball between my knees on accident and we had a good laugh about that!" - Daniel
He loved watching football from his beloved recliner. He was a die-hard fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys. His best friend and little companion, Sierra (Shih-Tzu) was always by his side. He will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father; three brothers, Dennis Craig, Leroy Craig and Floyd Craig.
He is survived by his wife Lenore Craig, his daughter, Brittany Craig Scott, his son, Daniel Craig; his brother, Harold Craig; three sisters, Joyce Passmore, Jean Jacobs, and Glenda Buchanan; along with a host of extended family and dear friends.
We love you Jerry. We are so proud of the strength, courage, and bravery you have shown over the years. Thank you so much for everything you've done for us and for all of the memories we made together. We couldn't ask for more.

I am so sorry to hear about Jerry passing away. I worked with Jerry at Mathis Brothers for a long time. He was always such a great and funny guy. We were in the same sales team. I went by Andy there. I have so many Jerry memories but one of my favorites was when our team went to Chef Bennett“s house for Christmas dinner one year. I was sitting next to Jerry and he tapped me on the shoulder and said, "Hey Andy, do I have something stuck between my teeth?" I looked over and he had about a foot long piece of asparagus sticking out of his mouth. I laughed so hard and we got such a kick out of that. He was such a funny guy. I will miss him.
