Jerry Eugene Fann, 81, of Wavery, Kansas, died peacefully at home on September 1, 2025. He was born January 10, 1944, in Waverly, Kansas, to the late Bessie (Vest) and Harold Fann. Jerry graduated from Burlington High School in 1962 and went on to attend and graduate from Kansas State Teachers College (now Emporia State University) with a degree in Business Administration. Jerry worked in a variety of different fields over the course of his career, working in aviation, farming, and nuclear energy fields.

Jerry discovered he had a gift for music at a very young age and could play almost any instrument by ear. As a youngster, he often provided entertainment for local dances by playing his accordion. As an adult, his instrument of choice was the electric organ. In addition to entertaining others by playing music, Jerry loved telling jokes and stories and could shoot the breeze with the best of them.

On August 21, 1971, he married Bonnie Grosjean in Wooster, OH.

Jerry is survived by his spouse of 54 years, Bonnie, of the home; children, Andrew of Lawrence, Bridey (BJ) Hayes of Souix City, IA, Jennifer Fann (Josh Sheffild) of Waverly; grandchildren, Avery, Carter, Harper Hayes; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Harold W. Fann, Loren V. Fann, Doris (Don) DeForest.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Jones Funeral Home, Burlington, with Pastor Paul Meinke officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery, Waverly. Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2025, at Jones Funeral Home, Burlington. Memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, in care of Jones Funeral Home PO Box 277 Burlington, KS 66839.
