Jerry Ray Green

Jerry Ray Green, a beloved friend to everyone, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at his home. We give thanks for the 62 years of his life, and we will miss him deeply.
Jerry was born May 26, 1963, and was the son of the late Ray and Doris Green. He was indeed a beacon of warmth and friendliness in our community. Jerry never met a stranger, and he will be remembered for always greeting everyone with his special way of saying hello and never missing a chance to make everyone feel special. His infectious personality made every encounter with Jerry delightful. Whether he was strolling down Main Street or just busy working, he made certain you knew he had seen you. His friendly "Hey there" became a trademark of his presence, brightening up everyone's day.
Throughout his life, Jerry held various roles in local businesses, always bringing commitment and dedication to his jobs. He had most recently worked at McDonald's in Canton and also in Waynesville. His customers and friends will remember him not only for his strong work ethic but for the genuine concern and care he showed to everyone he met.
A devoted Christian, Jerry was a member of Harris Chapel AME Zion Church in Canton and where he had also served as a church usher. His warm smile and his caring spirit always made everyone feel blessed and welcome on Sundays.
To know Jerry was to love him. His giving heart, the happy sound of his laughter and his unwavering friendliness touched the lives of all who crossed his path. In honor of Jerry, let us reach out and touch someone with a friendly hello or word of kindness- Jerry would like that.
Surviving are his loving wife, Nadena Morgan Green, many good friends, and especially Randy McDowell and Daran McAdams, who Jerry considered to be his closest and best friends.
A Service of Remembrance to honor the life of Jerry will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 14, 2025, in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Pastor William Staley will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
