Jerry Lee Hawksworth, 82, of Peoria Illinois, passed away on Monday July 21 2025 at Carle Health Methodist in Peoria. Jerry was born in Peoria on August 30, 1942 to the late Emil and Helen (Reed) Hawksworth. Jerry is survived by his sister Patricia (Robert) Butler of Metamora Illinois; sister-in-law Roberta Hawksworth of Peoria Arizona; and several nieces & nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brother Donald Hawksworth and great niece Brianna Williams. After high school Jerry served a 2-year mission trip in Northern, CA. He then attended Brigham Young University in Provo Utah, graduating with a Masters degree in guidance and counseling. Jerry used that degree for over 10 years at CETA Mental Health Services in downtown Peoria. He then joined Oriental Merchandise Clubs in the Chicagoland area, selling true Asian artisan products from statuettes to full home furnishings. Jerry's unique style shown thru in the décor of his own home where GP Transit stands today. Jerry made many lifelong friends and for many years sent over 100 Christmas cards to friends and family with personal funny messages in each. He enjoyed his life traveling to Spain, China, and Egypt. his favorite being Manchu Picchu, which he visited on several occasions. Spending a day with Jerry was always filled with laughter. He loved being amusing and funny. Cremation rites have been accorded and a graveside service for Jerry will be held on August 2nd at 11:30am at the Henry Cemetery in Henry Illinois.
