Oh, l am so touched though i realize first cousin Jerry had lived a good long life and as far as I know he had done everything right! The home w/Aunt Bon snd Uncle Tom was the first go to for my sister Billie and I when we traveled over the mountain to that sweet magical place, Jacksonville community, the home of our Caldwell grandparents in the shadow of Bald Mountain. The memory is so sweet, my Caldwell aunts and their families, their houses a short distance from eachother, their preparing meals from their gardens, Aunt Jenn sat on her front porch stringing and breaking beans in her lap and their young tender corn grabbed from theie backdoor garden just before cutting and scraping those roastears (or so it sounded)! Bage and I had a special playhouse under the front porch which by the way had a swing where we swung high as not to risk the angry old bulldog of Uncle Tom´s napping on the floor snapping at us. My Aunt Eliza, Aunt Vaul, Aunt Jennie, Aunt Edna and my cousin all lived there a few feet from each other. Another important closest in age to mother, Aunt Lee, lived at East Point.
