Jerry G. Jenkins, 72, of Baytown, Passed away Friday, January 1, 2010 in Splendora surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 20, 1937 in Church Point, Louisiana to Frank F. Jenkins, Jr. and Mildred Bourque Jenkins, he had lived in Baytown for the last 43 years and was a retired Boilermaker from Local #74 in Houston. Jerry was a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved listening to Cajun music, family parties and playing cards with his friends. Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Jerry, infant daughter, Stephanie and a sister, Marilyn Hoelewyn. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Alice F. Bergen Jenkins; daughters, Debra Jenkins Mitchell and husband Stewart Vaughan of Splendora, Marion Jenkins Rodriguez and her husband Colin Rodriquez of Highlands, sons Joseph W. Foster-Jenkins and Charles L. Jenkins and his wife Kim Richardson all of Baytown; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred B. Wauson and her husband David Wauson of Angleton; brothers, John C. Jenkins and his wife Patsy Jenkins of Houston and Frank F. Jenkins, III and his wife Beth of Angleton and a host of family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 4, 2010 at the funeral home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Navarre Funeral Home with Father Christopher Terry officiating. Burial will follow at Brookside Memorial Park in Houston. Pallbearers will be Chad Rodriguez, Robert Evans, Travis Blackburn, Dustin Lopez, James McCord and Alton Chisholm. Rusty Paull will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for their care and kindness.
