Jerry Kircus, Shreveport native, lawyer, photographer, and raconteur, finally escaped Parkinson's disease on Friday, April 4, 2025. He leaves behind to miss him his three daughters, Karen Marchetti (Francesco), Kimberly Eklund (Keith), and Kris Kircus, stepdaughter Lisa Brown (Dave), stepson Ted Dewey (Gary), grandsons Cian, Gareth, Derek, and Ronan; sister-in-law Sandra, his wife Sherry, and many friends.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents Clarence Kircus and Laurine Caswell Kircus and by his two brothers Johnny and Jimmy.
Jerry was born in Shreveport in 1941, and he grew up in Shreveport, attending Queensborough Elementary, Lakeshore Junior High School, and Fair Park High School. He went on to Northwestern State College for Pre-Law and then to LSU, where he received his Juris Doctor degree.
Jerry worked many years as a solo practitioner of the law and later worked for both state and city as a Public Defender, Law Clerk, and City Attorney.
There will be a gathering at Aulds Funeral Home on May 24, 2025 from 12 PM to 2 PM. We will post an announcement nearer to that time.
The family expresses gratitude to all the wonderful caregivers at Guest Care at Spring Lake for the kind and skillful care they gave Jerry when his illness made it impossible to stay at home.

Miss you, Jerry. I think of all the education you paid for for your employees, your beautiful photography adorning my home, your constant optimism, your fights for justice. Love always, Dorie

Fly high Mr. Kircus you are free now, no more pain no more worries. So fly as high as your angel wings will take you. As of now you are in the arms the heavenly father. Enjoy the calmness of heaven, for you are free. Mr. Kircus I enjoyed taking care of you. You always had a smile on your face, you made me smile, laugh, you were always in a good mood, you will really be missed. Rest In Peace my friend, and fly high with your angel wings that you have earned. Marie
