Jerry G. Lombardo, 93, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of January 19, 2025 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born in New Castle on January 8, 1932 he was the son of the late Paul and Christine Ross Lombardo.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, the former Connie DeAugustine. The two were married on January 17, 1984.
In the early years Jerry had worked as a Service Manager for several American Motor Company Dealerships. He then worked for many years as the head mechanic for the City of New Castle Public Works Department until he retired. After retirement Jerry worked as a head maintenance engineer with several hotel chains.
Jerry had proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force being stationed in Alaska. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church.
Jerry was an avid football fan, especially of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also enjoyed going golfing and bowling. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his two children, Jerry Lombardo, Patty Lombardo Smearman and step-son Bill Donaldson, his sister, Chloe Buckner, eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Lombardo.
Honoring his wishes there are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Father Ben Barr will officiate. Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
