Jerry T. McCullars

The funeral service for Mr. Jerry T. McCullars, 80, of Anniston, will be at 12 pm on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Golden Springs Baptist Church. Dr. Roland P. Brown will officiate and burial will follow at Crook Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
Mr. McCullars passed away unexpectedly December 18, 2024, at home.
Mr. McCullars was born in South Carolina and raised in Alexandria. He met the love of his life, Ina Houston, and they moved to Georgia for a few years and moved back to Anniston because of work. It was here he called home and where he chose to raise his family. Mr. McCullars was a licensed insurance agent and he owned his own Allstate agency in Anniston for many years. Mr. McCullars was a graduate of Jacksonville State University and was a longtime member of Golden Springs Baptist Church. He loved being in the outdoors, waterfalls, evening sunsets, cooking, old Land Cruisers, and spending time with his two dogs, Cedar and Timber. Mr. McCullars was a strong, Christian man, a devoted husband to Ina, a loving father to his two boys, and was always there for his in-laws, and the many nieces and nephews he cared so much about.
Mr. McCullars is preceded in death by his son, Jerry Mark McCullars, and his parents, Travice and Frances McCullars.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ina H. McCullars, and his son, Joey McCullars and very special girlfriend, Jessica Benitez, who has been a part of the family for 18 years.
Pallbearers will be Gray Hughes, Brad Pritchett, Harley Houston, Jared King, Todd Campbell, William Adams, and Joey McCullars. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Oneal, Steve Sprayberry, Ken Baswell, and George Winn.
The family wishes to thank Jerry's friend and personal physician, Dr. Howard McVeigh, for the wonderful care he provided over the years. They would also like to thank his friend and pastor, Dr. Roland Brown, for the love he has shown to their family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Golden Springs Baptist Church, 3 Robertson Road, Anniston, AL 36207.
