Jerry Lester Meadows, born on August 30, 1942, a resident of Sevierville, TN and formerly from Rockwood, TN ran into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Fort Sanders Hospital, Knoxville, TN. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, youth leader, joke teller, lay leader, deacon, coach, and friend. Jerry lived a life filled with love, faith, family, football and service to others.

Jerry was a devoted husband to Sunny for 63 beautiful years, sharing a love and partnership that was an inspiration to all who knew them. He was an incredible father to Cathy Gibson and Scott Meadows, and the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and treated many, many, more as his own family. Family was his greatest treasure, and he cherished every moment spent with them making memories.

Jerry dedicated 25 years of his career to serving as a Hospital Assistant Administrator at Chamberlain Memorial Hospital. Afterwards, he contributed to the cleanup efforts at several plants in Oak Ridge. In the later years of his career, Jerry worked as a teaching assistant at William Blount High School, where he also helped his son coach football. His professional journey reflected his dedication to serving his community and inspiring others.

Jerry’s life was a testament to his love for Jesus, his quick humor, and his ever-present joyful smile. He was a straight shooter, always ready with a joke, and never missed an opportunity to give anyone and everyone a hug. He met no stranger, welcoming all with open arms and a warm heart. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed playing golf, working crossword puzzles, and spending countless hours watching football practices. Above all, he loved attending his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s games and activities, cheering them on with pride and joy.

Whether mentoring as a youth leader, inspiring as a coach, serving as deacon of his church or spreading laughter with his jokes, Jerry’s impact on others was immeasurable and created an impact on so many people. His faithful devotion to his family and community will be a legacy remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
