Jerry Bissell Overbaugh

Jerry Bissell Overbaugh, 78, of Murrells Inlet, SC, beloved husband of Debra (Geithner Chevalier) Overbaugh died Thursday April 25, 2024. He was born April 23, 1946, son of the late Theodore and Marjorie Overbaugh, and was also predeceased by his brother and best buddy, John.
Jerry grew up in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High, class of 1964. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, 7th Special Ops Squadron. Following his military service Jerry worked for many years for the Yankee Companies (predominantly Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Plant) and Northeast Utilities Service Company.
Prior to retirement Jerry & Debra lived on Great Hill Pond in Portland where they hosted many memorable July 4th picnics and other celebrations. His fondest memories were those of his children and grandchildren swimming and boating at the lake, and wandering through his garden eating blueberries, raspberries, snap peas and cherry tomatoes. If you received one of Jerry's first tomatoes of the season, you were special indeed.
After retirement, Jerry and Debra retired to Murrells Inlet where he enjoyed all things outdoors: boating, fishing, golf and traveling. He became an avid reader in retirement reading over 1200 books.
Beside his loving wife, he leaves four children and their spouses to mourn his loss; Tad (Theodore) (Kim) Overbaugh of Swampscott, MA. Randall (MaryBeth) Overbaugh of Windsor, Kristen (Sean) of O'Brien of Marlborough, Leesa Tyler (Garth) of Coventry, his sister, Deborah Hallgren (Charles) of Conway, SC., sister-in- law, Sharon Overbaugh of Windsor, and 9 grandchildren, as well as many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jerry's family will receive friends on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 10:30AM at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor, CT 06095.
