Jerry Ramsdell Obituary
Of Victoria, MN, peacefully concluded his life's journey at the young age of 93 on Sunday, March 2, 2025. His life was rich with love, big hugs, laughter, and dedication to God, faith, family, friends, and country. He was preceded in death by parents Charles & Adeline, and son Steven. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, love of his life and best friend Joanne; children Mark (Debbie), Lisa (Peter) Staudohar, & Sue (Scott) Johnson; Bapa to 7 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren (with 2 more on the way). Born in St. Paul, a graduate of South St. Paul High School; a Korean War Vet in the Army serving from 1953-1955, and a member of the American Legion and VFW. Jerry retired after decades as an Association Executive for SMARCA. He was a lover of all things hunting, fishing, & family. Mass of Christin Burial Wednesday, March 12, 11 AM with a visitation 1 hour before at St. Victoria Catholic Church, 8228 Victoria Drive, Victoria, MN. Military Honors will be presented following Mass at church. Interment Grand View Park Cemetery, Hopkins. Memorial preferred to the Steve Ramsdell - Class of 1986 Memorial Scholarship Fund for the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine's Professional Students or The Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation.

I had the honor to meet Jerry and his family through the scholarship they established in memory of Steve. I remember the warmth and grace of the family and their home to this day. To be selected by my class to recieve that award was deeply impactful and a lasting memory. Generosity opens the door to gratitude and I am grateful to have met Jerry, his family, and for the stories of Steve's life they shared with me. After 37 years in veterinary medicine, I still treasure it.
