Mr. Jerry (Sonny) Hustus Reid, 86, of Blairsville GA, born September 23, 1938, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Jerry was an Atlanta native and moved to Blairsville in 2002 after retiring.

Jerry was known around town for wearing overalls, speaking German, and asking, " Did you hear that train?", as he displayed his pocket watch with said train on it. Being social, he would visit local establishments for a laugh or two. He loved to tell jokes and sing silly songs for people's enjoyment. He loved to play Bingo at the civic center, and enjoyed being a part of the Sorghum Festival and other craft fairs around the area.

He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and his all time favorite, watching GunSmoke and other westerns. He loved his family and would do anything for them.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Capehart of Buford, two daughters, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Vivian Dyer Reid and his sister, Bettye Booker of Roswell.

The Family will receive friends at Cochran Funeral Home, in Blairsville, Saturday June 7, 2025, from 5-6:30pm and Sunday at 1pm. The Service, officiated by Pastor John Dixon, will also be held at Cochran Funeral Home, Sunday 2pm with graveside service at Choestoe Cemetery immediately after.
