Jerry Kenneth Rouse
July 11, 1941 – April 25, 2024
Jerry was born in Denver to Kenneth & Lucille (Wagner) Rouse. He grew up on the family farm in Englewood, Colorado where he attended Cherry Creek High School, graduating in 1959.
Post graduation, he worked in construction for a short time. He then moved on to working at a family-owned canning factory (K&R Foods) for 3 years. Jerry met his future wife (Jean Kennedy) while still working at the factory and participating in rodeo. Jerry and Jean got married March 3, 1962.
Jerry always had a passion for farming and went into business with his father in Englewood in 1963. They had a daughter Juli in 1964 and a son Cody in 1965. In 1971 they decided to move their family to Nunn Colorado to pursue their passion for farming.
After establishing roots in Nunn, they continued to farm and raise their family. Over the years Jerry loved playing recreational sports such as softball, volleyball, and basketball. He continued to play well into his seventies. Along with playing recreational sports he also coached The Nunn Merchants Women's Slow Pitch Softball Team for several years. His other hobbies included riding horses, hunting, fishing, and fast cars. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Pierce, Colorado.
Jerry's family was very important to him. He never missed a family function, whether it was sports, melodramas, or any other activity his family was involved in.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 62 years Jean, daughter Juli (Todd), son Cody (Sherri), grandson Clayton (Jamie), grandson Cole, great granddaughter Swayzee Mae, great grandson Rhett Kai, sister-in-law Barbara Coons (Dave), and sister-in-law Patricia Long (Rodger). A Life Celebration will be held from 11:00a.m. – 2:00p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Eaton Country Club, 37661 County Road 39, Eaton, CO 80615. In lieu of flowers, donations made to The Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation at https://www.supportchildrenscolorado.org/ or in care of Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 W. 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.

Jerry,

One Year! It has been a year since we lost you Jerry and you are still very much in our thoughts, prayers and hearts. What fond memories we have of you, your caring, your thoughts, your humor, your laughter, your charm and most of all your Love of your family and of life. You were thoughtful to all around you, yet you could speak your mind. There was comfort in your words and laughter in your heart. You were a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather (and even a brother) with understanding in your heart. You know you are greatly missed and thought of every day. When we are all together once again, we can share more of the same. I miss your laugh and see you all the time sitting that chair of yours. Bless you and know you are very much a part of all of us.

I will always remember Jerry's wise advice to me about raising cows . . . he was absolutely right about all of it! There are many memories that I will always cherish about him! He was a "rock" to his family and he will truly be missed. Prayers and love to my sister Jean and her family.

I did not get much time with Jerry other than when I was very little, but I vividly remember his laugh and sense of humor. I´m thankful for the memories I do have of him and am praying for peace and love for those closest to him. My very best wishes to you all. Love, Rachel Kane

Aunt Jean, Julie, Cody and family- I was so sorry to hear of the loss of Uncle Jerry. I have many good memories of him when I was younger growing up in Colorado as well as you all visiting Montana. Jerry was funny, smart and hard working to name a few. He was really the "whole package", an example of what every man could and should be. I am praying for you in hopes that time will ease the pain of this huge loss. Sending much love, Becky

I've known Jerry for 48 years and have the fondest memories of what we shared. Like love of farming, ranching, old cars, family, and the time we got in trouble from our "outing" at Rock Vale. In 1991, I lost my only Brother to an accident and thought I could never replace him. Jerry, you did replace him, and you are one of my best friends. I will never forget you and maybe there is a Rock Vale in Heaven when we will meet again! Thoughts and Prayers to your family.

Jerry, you are one of the "Good Guys". You made us all laugh and filled our hearts and memories with joy, love and respect. I remember you coming to the house for dates with sister Jean and you always squatted at the door instead of sitting in a chair. We shared good times meeting in different places and our "sisters" trip to Texas with our husbands was a great time and memory. Will miss you so much and Pray you are at Peace and once again we will all share new memories. Love, thoughts and prayers to your great family.

I remember Jerry from High School and we lived about a mile from him on Arapahoe Rd. He was about 3 yrs older than me but was in the same grade as my sister. My condolences to his family. RIP Jerry
