North Ogden – Jerry Shawhan, age 89, passed away at McKay-Dee Hospital on January 9, 2025. He is survived by his girlfriend of 11 years, Patti Grubb, his children Linda and James, son-in-law Ken, grandchildren Jon, Angela, Jeff, Eric and Rebecca and great-grandchildren William, Helena, Andrew, Lucas, Henry and Amelia. He was married to Mary Lou for 47 years and Mary Martha for 6 years before their passing.
Jerry was born in Humboldt, Nebraska, and went to High School in Southgate, California after which he joined the Air Force. He was assigned to Hill AFB in 1972 as an air traffic controller and retired from the military in Ogden, Utah as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1982 after 28 years of service.
After the military Jerry was in charge of security at the Federal Reserve Bank in SLC where he worked for 16 years.
Jerry was an avid golfer, hunter, and cowboy action shooter with the Single Action Shooting Society. There he was known as Wind River Ranger. Jerry was also a Black Belt in Karate. He was a good man and a good friend.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 2 pm at the Roy City Cemetery, 5200 South 2300 West.
