Jerry Dale Sides

Jerry Dale Sides, 79, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, June 14, 2024 in Albemarle.

Jerry was born December 3, 1944 in North Carolina to the late Odell Sides and Trula Almond Sides. He was also preceded in death by son; Jamie Sides (Sept 29, 2023); and sisters, Connie Murphy and Darnell Parrish.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. A graveside service will be on Wednesday at 10:30 am at Norview Gardens in Norwood officiated by Pastor Stoney Benfield. 

Jerry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved spending time in the mountains during the summer and at the beach during the mild seasons. Having been a commercial contractor, Jerry was a builder that could construct about anything he laid his eyes on. He also enjoyed going fishing, especially for flounder. Jerry had a strong faith in God and was devoted to both his Lord and his family. He was loved by his family and all who knew him, and he will be sorely missed.

Survivors include wife, Betty Sides; son, Jan Sides; son, Jody (LeAnne) Sides; daughter, DeeDee (Grant) Sides Whitley; grandchildren, Alicia Sides, Justin (Lillie) Sides, Kaylee (Brandon) Luther, Christopher (Emily) Aycock, John Aycock; great-grandchildren, Elia Luther, Braylee Gainey, Savannah Aycock, Weston Aycock; sisters, Marjorie Ann Horton, Nanette Sasser, and raised with 2 special aunts, Faye Hatley and Hazel Hagans.
