Jerry Harben Simmons, 81, passed away Monday, February 17, 2025, in Arlington, TX. He was born July 26, 1943, to Harben Simmons and Alyce (Grimes) Simmons in Dallas, TX. He was a graduate of Pilot Point High School and a member of the American Legion. Jerry initially served in the United States Navy and later was a rancher and truck driver.
Jerry's hobbies consisted of fishing, water skiing and camping on Lake Texoma with family. His greatest passions were roping, cutting horses and raising cattle. Jerry believed in living a simple life, going to the pasture and never giving up.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Harben and Alyce; and sister, Kathy Hill.
He is survived by his daughters, Shelley and husband Kurt Clawson of Arlington, TX and Ashley and husband Jean-Paul Rosa of Valparaiso, FL; six grandchildren, Asher Clawson, Kennedy Clawson, Cade Clawson, Phoenix Rosa, Zoe Rosa, and Sky Rosa; brother, Lonnie Simmons of Pilot Point, TX; brother-in-law, Bill Hill of Pilot Point, TX; nephews, Jamie Ellis and Jeremy Simmons; niece, Callie Prince; and cousin, Jackie Mayfield of Rock Creek, TX.
Jerry's service is Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 6:00PM at Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey, TX, with a visitation following until 7:30PM. Interment is Friday, February 21, 2025, at 3:30PM at Furneaux Cemetery, 3650 Cemetery Hill Rd, Carrollton, TX 75007.
