Jerry Simpson

Jerry Adger Simpson, age 81, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at home.

Born November 1, 1944, in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Adger H. Simpson and Laura Barron Simpson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, David Simpson.

Jerry was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and loved his country. In his younger years, he loved fast cars and motorcycles. Jerry always had the coolest cars! He grew up with many cousins who thought of him as their brother. He was a man with a great sense of humor who enjoyed his morning breakfasts with friends. He was an avid firearms enthusiast and collector and also took any opportunity to hit the golf course.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Sheila Yates; Angelia Locke (Billy) and Ashli Callaham (Tyler); nieces and nephews, Stacey Franklin (Roger), Stephen Simpson (Amy), Scott Simpson (Liz), great niece and nephews, James May, Trista May, and Sean Simpson; and many other family and friends all of whom he loved dearly.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 2:00-3:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm in the Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
