The family of Daniel Walter Simpson is deeply saddened to announce his passing on December 11, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on January 19, 1958, in Wyandotte, Michigan, Daniel was the beloved son of Jane (Arnold) Simpson and the late Walter Simpson.

Daniel grew up in Wyandotte, surrounded by a large and loving family. He attended the local schools and graduated from Roosevelt High School, where he formed lifelong friendships and developed the down-to-earth, welcoming personality he became known for. He was one of eight siblings and will be dearly missed by Joe Simpson, Tom (Linda) Simpson, Tim (Juanita) Simpson, Val (Ron) Culhan. He was preceded in death by his siblings Nancy, Janet, Mitch, and Deb.

A dedicated and hardworking man, Daniel spent over 30 years in the manufacturing industry. He built a long and loyal career with Cadon Plating, where he was respected for his work ethic, reliability, and easygoing nature. He took pride in diligently working to provide for his family and supporting those he loved.

Daniel was a devoted father to Richard (Dawn) Simpson and Michael (Elizabeth) Simpson, and a caring grandfather to Richard Simpson II, Samantha Simpson, Aidan Simpson, Erin Simpson, Zachary Colliver, and Alexander Colliver. His heart grew even fuller with the arrival of his great-grandchildren, Eli Simpson and Ezekiel Simpson, who brought him endless joy. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews—especially his nieces Dawn Malinowski and Angela May, who held a special place in his life.

For the last 25 years, Daniel shared his life with his loving partner, Doris “Dory” Curylo, who stood by his side through every season of life. Their bond was full of companionship, laughter, and unwavering support. He is also survived by his loyal dog, Jojo, who never left his side and brought him immense comfort.

Dan’s hobbies reflected his love for simple, meaningful pleasures. He enjoyed fishing off Biddle Avenue in Wyandotte, playing cards with his sisters, spending time with friends, and cheering for the Detroit sports teams. In his younger years, he loved shooting pool and riding his motorcycle. He appreciated the little things—quiet moments, familiar places, and the people who made him feel at home.

Those who knew Daniel will remember him as kind, funny, and soft-spoken. He had a gift for making others feel comfortable, often striking up conversations with strangers who quickly became friends. Dan avoided speaking ill of anyone, choosing instead to see the good in people. His personality was inviting, his smile genuine, and his love for his family unwavering.

Daniel Simpson lived a modest, meaningful, and heartfelt life—one defined by loyalty, hard work, compassion, and quiet strength. Though his presence will be deeply missed, the warmth he brought into the world will continue to live on in the memories of his family, his friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
