A native of Buncombe Co., Jerry was a son of the late Wiley Carroll and Josephine Moore Singleton. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Joe, Jim, Ken and Ric Singleton.
Jerry wore many hats. He was the former owner of Classic Carrier Trucking Company and he drove 18-wheeler trucks for many years. He was known as the "Music Man" due to his love for music. He played saxophone and bass guitar with many gospel groups throughout the years. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Dena Woody Singleton; son, Jerry Dean Singleton (Julie); and grandchildren, Christian and Joshua.
There will be a photo remembrance from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. with the funeral beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Glory Tabernacle Church, 1221 Sweeten Creek Road, Asheville, NC 28803. Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Candler.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.
