Jerry Smitherman Obituary
Jerry was a devoted husband to Patricia, whom he married on May 20, 1995, in a heartfelt ceremony in their backyard in Katy, Texas. He was a proud graduate of Monticello High School and continued his education at BMI Business School. His career spanned several companies, including Swift, SWB, and Consolidated, where he made lasting contributions.
An avid fisherman and a devout Baptist, Jerry found great joy in his faith and loved the Lord deeply. He cherished his family, and his legacy will live on through them.
Jerry is survived by wife, Patricia, Father-In-Law, Orville Von Ehwegen, and his children: Teresa Gayle Smitherman-Williamson (Danny), Jeffery Bryan Smitherman (Veronda), and daughter-in-law Anna, as well as his cherished grandchildren: Ashleigh Paige Williamson-Bell (Jack), Stormie Danielle Williamson-Hebert (Brandon), Courtney Jane Smitherman-Hay (Robert), Lindsey Dianne Smitherman-Hailey (Khyle), Amber Dawn Smitherman-Lieberman (David), and Justin Smitherman (Mia). He was also a proud great-grandfather to Marshall and Sylas Bell; Dawson, Denver, and August Hebert; Zayden, Keegan, Nayeli Smitherman and Austyn Hailey Smitherman; Lukan and Ryann Lieberman; and Ellie Gipson.
He is survived by his sisters Julia Pearce, Saleta Carolyn Steakley and Sharron Gonzalez (Tony), and was predeceased by his brother in law Clarence Pearce and his son Larry Scott Smitherman.
Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 11 AM on September 30, 2024, at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, Texas. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM, with interment at Smith Memorial Park. In honoring Jerry's wishes, a reception featuring cookies, muffins, and cake will be provided.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Hospital, supporting the community he cherished.
Jerry's warm spirit, love for family, and faith will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
