Jerry Lee Tapp passed away Thursday morning, September 7, 2023 in Bridgeport,
Texas. Jerry was born in Decatur, Texas on December 29, 1941 to Hazel Lorene (Etheridge)
Tapp and Alex Cleburne Tapp, Sr. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother and father, his
daughter, Jennifer Gail Tapp, and his sisters, Bobbie Jean (Tapp) Hill and Melba Joyce (Tapp)
Newman. Jerry is survived by his brother, Alex Cleburne Tapp, Jr., daughter, Rebecca Lee
Tapp-Kinnison, his son, Alex Charles Tapp, and his grandchildren, Aubrey (Kevin) Gail Wentz,
Jerrett Robert Wentz, Lorelai Ann Banta-Tapp, Ryan Rebecca Tapp, and William (Brooks) Tapp
Kinnnison.
Jerry was a beloved son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and friend. Jerry was always
ready to lend a helping hand, a joke, or a song. Jerry loved to make people smile, loved his
family, his church family, and he loved the Lord with all his heart. Jerry was very loved and
cherished. He will be greatly missed.
A graveside service will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas at 1pm on
Monday, September 11, 2023. A Celebration of Life service and reception will follow at 3pm at
St. Timothy Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Bedford, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please make
donations to St. Timothy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
