Jerry Lee Wall, II was born on December 24, 1945 to Jerry Wall Sr. and Myrna McElroy Wall in Odessa, Texas. He graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Texas Tech University in 1968, and promptly enlisted in the United States Air Force. By the time his second enlistment ended, he had attained the rank of Staff Sergeant with an honorable discharge.
Jerry and Linda met and married in 1971. Their daughter Amy was born to them in 1973, and a month later they moved to the Houston area. Elizabeth was born in 1981, and the family moved to Clifton when she was six months old. Four years later, Jerry Lee Wall, III (Trey) was born in 1985. Jerry worked for 28 years in Human Resources. He began pursuing a new career in nursing home administration until retirement in 2019.
Of the many places he had worked, Gearwrench, Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home, Spenco, Hillcrest, Chrysler Technologies/Raytheon, Daybreak, and Balfour numbered among them.
In addition to his demanding work life, Jerry was a devoted member of the Gideons for over fifty years and faithfully served in his church home as a Deacon, tenor in the choir, and the church’s shut-in ministry. In later years and despite dementia, Jerry never missed an opportunity to hand out Gideon Bibles and tell others about the Lord.
He is well remembered for his kindness, great sense of humor, and his love for the Lord. His family would like to thank you for coming today to join them in celebrating his life and legacy.
Memorials may be made to the Gideons or the local food bank in your area.
