Jerry Wallinger was born on July 22, 1941, to Joe and Lucille Wallinger in Stuart, Nebraska. He
was called home on May 12, 2024, in Stuart, Nebraska. He was the oldest of five boys raised
on a farm in Stuart, Nebraska. Jerry attended St. Boniface and Stuart Public Schools where he
graduated in 1959.
After graduation he went with friends, Rich and Morris Schmaderer to Wyoming to work in the
oil fields. Later moving to Omaha where he did construction and was a heavy equipment
operator.
Jerry married Marilyn Schmaderer on December 28, 1960, in Stuart, Nebraska. To this union
they were blessed with four children: Steve, Jeff, Randy and Julie. They moved back to Stuart
in 1971 and started milking cows and then farming. In later years he went into partnership with his sons creating Wallinger Farms.
In his younger years Jerry was active with the Stuart Rodeo, Knights of Columbus and always
St. Boniface Church. Later in life he was best known for going to coffee club and sitting on the
front porch waiting for grandchildren and great grandkids to stop by for visits.
Jerry is survived by his wife Marilyn of 63 years, sons Steve (Lorraine) Wallinger of Stuart, Jeff
(Kim A) Wallinger of Stuart, Randy (Kim J) Wallinger of Stuart and daughter Julie (Dave) Hoyt of
Kearney. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; Amanda (Tom) Rowan, Zach Wallinger,
Kristen (Brock) Lange, Travis (Katie) Wallinger, Megan (Luke) Engel, Caleb Hoyt, Morgan,
Sarah and Trey Wallinger; seven great grandchildren; Gigi and Axel Rowan, Alexis, Colton,
Madisyn and Wyatt Lange and Lyra Engel. Brothers Rolly (Judy) Wallinger, Rick Wallinger, and
Ted (Trish) Wallinger. In laws, Don Schmaderer, Janice Lockmon, Kathy Schmaderer, Mel and
Linda Schmaderer, Paul & Arlene Schmaderer.
Jerry is proceeded in death by parents Joe & Lucille Wallinger, brother Denny Wallinger,
beloved granddaughter Terra Wallinger and two brother in laws Gary Lockmon and Jim
Schmaderer, two sisters-in-law Sally Schmaderer and Karen Wallinger. Memorials may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stuart or the Stuart KC's.
