Wallinger, John Kenneth passed away on Wednesday November 8, 2023, at the age of 93. Preceded in death by cherished parents Rose and Albert Wallinger (nee, Backes) and siblings Rose Marie Deschler and Albert Wallinger, Jr.. Beloved husband of June Wallinger (nee, Wright), devoted father of Jeanne (Joe) Rector, Judy (Dan) Kelly, James (Janet) Wallinger; cherished grandfather of Joey (Katie) Rector, Krista (Ryan) Kerlick, Derek Kelly, Justin Rector, Jocelyn (Joe) Reynolds, Jenya Rector, Jeremy (Sydney) Rector, Julianne Wallinger, and Jayna Wallinger; cherished great Papa to Addison, Cameron & Emerson Kerlick and Miles & Peyton Rector; dear Uncle, Cousin and great friend to many.
John served in the military at Arsenal in Boulder, Colorado. John graduated from Washington University with a bachelor's in science as a chemical engineer and his career consisted of working for National Lead, Portland Cement, and MSD. In his free time, John was an avid softball player, coach, and overall sports enthusiast; he loved playing tennis and fishing and was a devoted Dodgers fan!
He was a faithful Christian who showed his love through his actions & love for others. He was a friend to all, easy going, and had a fabulous sense of humor. He always made life fun! He loved his family extremely well and will be greatly missed!

Visitation Monday November 20, 2023, from 10:30 to 11:30 at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, MO 63129. Funeral service from 11:30 to 12:30, also at the funeral home. Interment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
