Jess Acuna Cuevas, passed away on December 5th, 2025. Born on March 16, 1933 in Phoenix, Arizona, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grand father.
He graduated from Phoenix Union High school and earned a Bachelors degree in Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. He was a proud veteran of the Untied States Air Force. He traveled to various places for the Air Force including San Antonio TX, Tucson AZ, and Spokane WA. He worked as an engineer and designer for over 40 years, creating residential home designs, aerospace mechanical parts for jet plane ejection seats, and current automotive airbags to name a few of his accomplishments. He had much success in his career and still has many acknowledgments on several patents. He was highly regarded by is fellow engineers. He truly enjoyed being in the outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing. He obtained a black belt in karate and flew planes during his pilots license training. He will be remembered for his kindness, humor, toughness, quiet demeanor, and caring for his wife and family. He married his wife Jennie in 1955 and shared 70 years of marriage. Jess loved spending time with family and friends very much and especially loved hearing the laughter of children.
He is survived by his wife, Jennie, his five children, 11 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
His remembrance and services will be:

My sincere condolences to Jess's family. I will never forget the time I spent working with him at TRW. He was a brilliant engineer and always very kind and patient with me. I hope the memories of his wonderful life bring a smile to your faces.
