Jesse Yates Clark

With great sadness we share that Jesse Yates Clark unexpectedly passed away on November 9, 2023, at the age of 21, in Greenville, North Carolina. Born in Oklahoma, Jesse is the son of the late Jesse Lee Clark and Valarie Weigold Clark. Jesse was predeceased by his grandfather, Gary Lee Clark. Jesse is survived by his mother Valarie, his brothers Gary Lee Clark and Beauden William Clark, and his sister Ada Lynn Clark, all of whom he loved with his whole heart. Also left to cherish his memory is his fiancée Alyssa Maya Springle and her family.
Jesse grew up in Hampstead, North Carolina, with his beloved family before moving to Greenville, North Carolina, to pursue a degree in Radiography. After graduating with his Associate's degree from Pitt Community College, Jesse finally started his Radiography courses this fall. Though he never much liked school, Jesse loved his classes in Radiography. When he was not in class or at home, he was at CVS, where he worked his way up to shift supervisor/pharmacy technician. His coworkers say he was a hard worker and made work fun with his quirky sense of humor.
Jesse enjoyed playing video games with his best friend Brendan and was super competitive, which made game night with his Greenville family interesting. He loved his fiancée Alyssa, saying she was his light. It was common to see them FaceTiming for hours while they completed their schoolwork, sat in silence, or simply slept. He surprised everyone with his choice of shoes, but everyone grew to love his bubblegum pink crocs. They became a signature item for him. His crocs are just one example of Jesse wanting to be 'Jesse': unique, funny, and just himself. If he flipped you off, it probably meant he liked you, maybe even loved you.
He will be greatly missed, as he is greatly loved. We never know when it is our time to go, but what a blessing it is to have lived a full life and to have been deeply loved by so many.
A viewing and visitation for Jesse will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023, at Temple Free Will Baptist Church, 130 W Fire Tower Rd, Winterville, NC.
