Jesse Lee Curry, 96, of Stephens City, VA, passed away March 12, 2025 at Evergreen Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Jesse started working at a very early age, eventually finding his love for cooking. Jesse owned two restaurants, the Rustic Tavern and Jesse's Place and his own catering business for over sixty years. This is his legacy; his love for cooking. He also received numerous awards for his cooking.
Jesse volunteered for over 50 years for CCap, Kiwanis Club, and Pancake Day, Locust Grove Cemetery in Stephens City, and Thanksgiving Dinner at the Presbyterian Church. He also cooked for the Senior Center in Winchester and Stephens City.
He was the oldest member of John Mann Methodist Church. His duties included choir, usher, Pres. of United Methodist Ministry, and of course working in the kitchen.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Elizabeth Curry, and brothers,Henry,Alfred,Warren,George and Walter.and one sister, Ellen Curry. He is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. The funeral will be held at Jones Funeral home at 1:00 pm on Saturday with The Rev. Kevin Jackson officiating.
Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery in Stephens City. Pallbearers will be his great nephews.
