Jesse Edwards Obituary
Jesse was born on March 28, 1940 in Marion Memorial Hospital, Marion, Illinois, the son of Herbert and Donna (McCombs) Edwards.
He first worked for Martin Oil Company of Marion for several years. He later worked as a handy man for a local saw mill and lastly worked in lawn care.
He first married Ruth Rezetka and to this union three sons were born. He later married Rose Bryant on December 14, 2019 at the Williamson County Courthouse in Marion and she survives.
Jesse loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed hunting and watching motorsports. He was of the Baptist faith and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Bennett-Edwards; his sons, Jesse (Carrie) Edwards, Jr., John Paul (Jeannie) Edwards and James Darrel (Sabrina) Edwards; his grandchildren, Jessica Kristine Edwards, Bradley Paul Edwards, Micheal Edwards and Jayden Edwards; one brother, Jerry Edwards; and several other extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jimmie Edwards and Frank Edwards; and two sisters, Nadine Williams and Alma Lou Edwards.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL.
The visitation will be at Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
A graveside funeral service will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Marion, Illinois on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Family and friends attending the service should gather directly at the cemetery prior to 10:00 AM.
For those who prefer, the family suggests memorial donations be directed to the "Hospice of Southern Illinois" and may be mailed c/o Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 N. Court St., Marion, IL 62959. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at the graveside service.
