Jesse D. Hernandez peacefully passed away at home on April 25th, 2025. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 2nd, 1950 and lived in San Antonio for 75 years. Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Teodora Hernandez; brothers and sisters-Salvador, Anastacio, Maria de Jesus, Herlinda, Juan Jose, Samuel; and grandbaby-Aaron.
Having a beautiful and lifelong courtship and friendship, Jesse celebrated 51 years of marriage to his loving wife, Consuelo M. Hernandez, who survives him. Jesse was honored to be a father to three adult children-Timothy, Denise and Gregory (Esther). Jesse's title expanded to grandfather as he had three grandsons-Andruw, Anthony and Aaron, and three granddaughters-Arianna, Aubree and Araceli. Surviving siblings include-Ernesto, Ana Delia, Hortencia and Sylvia. Jesse will be missed by many who loved him including an aunt, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and countless friends and colleagues.
Among his many titles, Jesse (aka Daddy, Chuca, David, Popo) was also known and loved as Tio, Primo, and Amigo/Friend. Jesse became a U.S. Veteran after serving in the United States Army early in life. Jesse faithfully provided for his wife and family through 42 years of service at H.E.B followed by serving youth as a school bus monitor. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Some of his favorite times included being at home with his granddaughters and wife; cheering on the Cowboys, Spurs, and Rangers; and watching old Westerns, comedies, and sitcoms. He also participated in Adult chair volleyball, pool tournaments, exercise groups, Loteria/Bingo games, and he loved fishing with his friend, Albert.
Our beloved Jesse will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
