Joseph Anthony Casarez, Sr. passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, at the age of 62. He was born on March 18, 1963, in San Antonio, Texas.

A proud graduate of Fox Tech High School, Joseph enlisted in the United States Army in 1982 at just 18 years old, answering the call to serve his country with dedication and honor.

Joseph was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, spending many years on the road as a truck driver. Despite the demands of the job, he always made time for what mattered most-his loved ones.

He found joy in the simple things, especially gathering around the table with family. Joseph was known for his incredible holiday meals, homemade pies, and cookies-each dish made with love and care. His kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and lasting memories. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs and enjoyed watching games with his kids.

Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Natividad Casarez and Frances Guevera Casarez.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Lopez; his children, Joseph Casarez Jr. (Angelina) and Frances Cooper; and his seven grandchildren, who were the light of his life; Brian Cooper, Eric Uribe, Katelyn Cooper, Nicholas Casarez, Matthew Casarez, Jacob Castro and Madelyn Casarez.

Joseph's legacy lives on through the stories, values, and traditions he passed down. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
